Thin Tie Trends

What started out as a Trend is now here to stay!

Thin ties have been worn by Actors, Footballers and Trendy Bands over the last year or 2, everybody in the industry thought this would be a 6 month phase but Silk ties and Polyester ties have gradually got thinner since being worn. When you open up the tabloid newspaper or the latest celebrity magazines it is obvious that this is the favourite style for male celebrities.

The Average Thin tie is between 4.5cms to 5.5 cms with really Skinny ties at 3.5cms. This is a far cry from the fashion which was around even 4 years ago when people preferred thicker style ties.

Thin Plain colours sell strongest with Black Silk / Polyester ties selling the most, recently Paisley thin ties and Stripe thin ties are more commonly being bought as manufacturers realise that patterned ties are in demand in this size.

We have also seen the standard size of ties come down from 9.5cms to between 8 and 8.5cms give a neater sharper look when worn with a fashionable suit. We have also seen the standard length of ties increase from 142cms to between 146-150cms over the last 3 years giving the consumer more options of how to knot their ties.

Is the Kipper tie Dead? Well it would seem the consumer has for the moment decided so. However, I feel that this will not be the case in the near future. Styles and trends are continually changing and what is popular amongst consumers today may not be the case tomorrow.

What ever happens today and tomorrow in terms of fashion and trends, it is sure that ties will continually stay popular amongst stylish men. What is not known, is which type of ties will be the next fad and trend.

Buying Clothes And Ties Online

With the increase in the dependency of the internet in peoples lives, I have increasing thinking about a niche area of the internet and that is online shopping. Generally, many people have had the opinion that they would rather go to the shops than look for goods online.

The reasons behind this I suspect are that people generally like to see and feel what they are buying. It makes the experience more rewarding and enjoyable for the consumer. Also it can be treated as a day out for the family and friends. It also I feel adds to the community and helps to serve the local population. It allows us to build relationships with those around us and in turn build a community togetherness which I feel is extremely important.

It is this psychology that I find extremely interesting and the question of whether people and consumers like to stay in or go out to buy garments, clothes and accessories is an increasingly interesting question.

Having stated the reasons for which people like to go out for their shopping, the fact remains that online shopping is a growing industry which is set to continue. It is predicted that this is a growth market and more and more consumers are staying on the internet to find the best bargains.

The major advantages of online shopping are obvious and are there for all to see. The speed, convenience and efficiency at which one can shop is incredible and this is certainly what is driving the market. Consumers are able to receive more choice and variety for their money and in the fast paced life in which we live, this is essential.

For me this phenomenon is set to continue and will have a real affect on the high street and shops alike. However the jury is still out as to whether this is a positive step or a negative consideration for the local community.
